Position Papers

The Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe, through consultation among its members and soliciting input from various experts and stakeholders, endeavours to develop well-balanced position papers that are aimed at supporting mining sector policy development and implementation by the government of Zimbabwe. The ultimate objective of these position papers is to ensure that the government is provided with sufficient input by the private sector to aide policy formulation and implementation, thereby resulting in appropriate policies that are conducive to mining sector long-term growth through enhanced investment in exploration and development. The specific areas of focus in terms of mining policy featured in the position papers include, but are not limited to:

  • Mining Development Policy
  • Indigenization and Economic Empowerment
  • Mining Fiscal Regime (Taxation, royalties, title fees, etc.)
  • Mining Legislation (Mines & Minerals Act, Other related Acts)
  • Energy Policy (as it relates to mining)
  • Mining Investment Promotion
