To effectively and efficiently serve, and advance the interests of the mining industry in Zimbabwe, through promotion of development and growth strategies consistent with high international standards of health safety and environmental consciousness, and to positively influence the local, business, environment in order to attain the objectives of the mining industry.

The Mandate
The Chamber is established for the purpose of promoting, encouraging, protecting and fostering the mining industry and doing everything necessary and advisable for those objects, and for this purpose and without prejudice to the generality thereof :-
- To promote, advance and protect the mining industry and the interest of all persons connected therewith.
- To consider all questions connected with the mining industry and to promote public interest therein.
- To collect and circulate information relating to such mining industry.
- To procure information as to mines, mining companies, and all matters relating thereto.
- To grant subsidies or monetary subscriptions to any associations or institutions connected with the mining industry or calculated to benefit the same.
- To undertake and execute, either gratuitously or otherwise, any trusts or secretarial duties in the furtherance of these objects.
- To purchase, take, exchange, hire or otherwise acquire and hold any movable or immovable property, and any rights or privileges necessary or convenient for carrying out the objects of the Chamber.
- To construct, alter and maintain any buildings required for the purpose of the Chamber.
- To sell, improve, manage, lease, mortgage, dispose of, turn to account or otherwise deal with any part of the property of the Chamber
- To invest the moneys of the Chamber, not immediately required, upon such security or securities on such terms and in such manner as may be deemed expedient.
- To borrow any money required for the purpose of the Chamber, upon such securities as may be determined.
- To regulate relations between the members of the Chamber and their employees or any section of their employees or to protect or further the interests of employers in the mining industry in relation to their employees or any section of their employees.
- To encourage the settlement of disputes in the mining industry by conciliatory methods.
- To promote the supply of labour to mines and industries connected therewith, and take any steps considered necessary to this end.
- To promote the interests of apprentices and learners in all branches of the mining industry and to encourage the practical and technical training of such apprentices and learners and to do all things necessary to regulate the relations between such apprentices and learners and their employers and to encourage every effort through apprenticeship to train efficient craftsmen and operatives in the mining industry.
- To establish, form and maintain for the use of members and/or representatives of members, a library and museum of models, specimens, designs, drawings and other articles of interest in connection with the mining industry.
- To encourage the study of matters relating to mines and mining, whether by technical or professional students, and for that purpose to provide prizes and other rewards and distinctions.
- To provide for the delivery and holding of lectures, exhibitions, public meetings, classes and conferences calculated directly or indirectly to advance the cause of the mining industry and of education in mining matters, whether general, professional or technical.
- To encourage and advise on the establishment of good conditions in premises on or relating to mines in which work is done, particularly in regard to structure, ventilation, lighting, sanitation, cleanliness, operation and safety of machinery, prevention of accidents, First Aid and Environmental issues.
- To communicate with and exchange information upon mining matters with other Chambers of Mines, Government Departments or other organisations.
- To promote, support or oppose, as may be deemed expedient, any proposed legislative or other measure affecting the interests of members and/or the mining industry.
- To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of all of the above objects, or of any one of them.
